Oh man, it’s so sad to think about - mop dogs are extinct! I mean, who would’ve thought? It’s like they were here one day and gone the next. Talk about a bummer. But hey, at least we can still remember them fondly. After all, they were such unique creatures that you just don’t see anymore. It’s a real shame that we won’t get to experience their presence ever again. Ah well, c’est la vie!

World War II and the Cold War put a damper on importing the breed from Hungary, so it suffered and almost died out. But in 1962, US breeders got back in touch with Hungary and managed to revive it. Yay!
