Since ‘45, Germany’s been a major part of the British Army’s history. After WWII, they helped put the broken and divided country back together again. During the Cold War, they kept watch and then used Germany as a launching pad for troops all over the globe.
Rheindahlen Military Complex: Located in Mönchengladbach, Germany, this is the largest British Army base in Germany and serves as the headquarters for British Forces Germany. It houses a variety of units including infantry, armoured and engineering regiments.
Gütersloh Garrison: Located in Gütersloh, North Rhine-Westphalia, this base is home to the Royal Logistic Corps and provides logistical support to other British Army bases in Germany.
Paderborn Garrison: Located near Paderborn, North Rhine-Westphalia, this base is home to the 1st Armoured Division and provides armoured support to other British Army bases in Germany.
Fallingbostel Garrison: Located near Fallingbostel, Lower Saxony, this base is home to the 4th Armoured Brigade and provides armoured support to other British Army bases in Germany.
Sennelager Training Area: Located near Bielefeld, North Rhine-Westphalia, this training area serves as a major training facility for all branches of the British Armed Forces stationed in Germany and includes a variety of ranges for live firing exercises as well as urban warfare simulations.
