From the United States to Africa, Black people have made an indelible mark on society. Whether it’s through music, art, literature or activism, Black people have been at the forefront of progress for centuries. Let’s take a look at some of the amazing ways that Black people live around the globe!

Wow! Texas is really the place to be for Black folks, with the biggest population of any state. Georgia and Florida come in close behind, with almost 3.3 million single-race Black people each.
Systemic Racism: Systemic racism is the structural and institutional discrimination of black people in society. This includes unequal access to education, employment, housing, healthcare, and other resources.
Police Brutality: Police brutality is the use of excessive force by law enforcement officers against black people. This can include physical violence, verbal abuse, and even death.
Economic Inequality: Black people are disproportionately affected by economic inequality due to systemic racism. This includes lower wages for the same job as white counterparts and higher unemployment rates among black communities.
Health Disparities: Black people experience higher rates of chronic illnesses such as diabetes and hypertension due to lack of access to quality healthcare services. They also have shorter life expectancies than white Americans on average.
